This was really interesting to watch. My family and I currently live in a 10,000 sq. ft. home that is actually a converted dairy barn. It was honestly a little to lavish for us, but it was the 18 acre horse farm that my mom was really interested in. So we bit the bullet and purchased the property and home anyway. After the recession hit, we are no longer able to afford this place and are selling the house. The most expensive part of a large home is the utilities. 3shacks, plz, eat a .
im planning on building a shipping container house…solar lighting, propane cooking, wood heat…, rain water cistern….anyone who has done similar or got ideas post them to me…id appreciate your experience or ideas.
oh yeah….and you can begin with one container and add additional containers as your needs change…

Nice job. Well done.

abcdefjhijklbgfvxtwxyz!!!! noe i no mi acb next time who really cares! come on!
I admire his gumption to try and to “fit his needs” but 1) he sounds a little full of , especially when he starts showing off his terrible plumbing. Does he say he goes to the gym to shower? Seriously? And his kitchen is dogshit. What does he eat? hotpockets? Ecofriendly
2) He has a kid and he’s going on about an environmentally positive housing idea. I mean, cool, he’s obviously a bit toward the extreme of tiny eco footprints but HE HAD A KID. A kid is going to away every single attempt you could ever make to save the planet.
And his cabinet door doesn’t open all the way because of that stupid chair. this guy
how is this something revolutionary? people have lived in log cabins for hundreds of years, basicaly the same exact thing
What? SEVENTEEN FREAKIN’ THOUSAND DOLLARS? I mean, yeah. I like it and it’s cozy and all. but for that price?
You can live in a big condominium in the philippines. with three mini splits… IMO
Impractical and ridiculous. Unless of course, you’re agoraphobic or lazy. And 9 guests he’s had in there at one time?? I hope they all showered, didn’t speak, eat or use the washroom. Good luck with this Jay Shafer. Clearly your brain-child was born with Down Syndrome…
*man*wait here babes i need to get the ladder out and lay the bed out *girl*…..
Taking Dale to the Harrison County Fair & Demolition Derby today. Great thing about developing a child is the fact that I’ve got a pal currently to watch number 7 contests, test derbys, and so on.
